Roster guide

CloudRift Characters and Cosmetics

The browser edition includes six characters, twenty-one character skins, five coin-purchased trail effects, and a special Gold Coin Trail bundled with two Golden skins. All are earned with local game coins; none changes the movement physics or costs real money.

How the Bag and cosmetic economy work

Coins collected during runs are added to a wallet stored in the current browser. Open the Bag from the game menu to view characters, the selected character's skins, effects, maps, and any earned mechanics. Buying an item subtracts its listed coin price and immediately makes it available to equip.

Characters and skins are visual choices. Every pilot uses the same flap physics and collision rules. A higher rarity is a collection label, not a hidden speed, lift, or hit-box bonus. Trail effects are also visual and can be equipped independently of the active skin.

The browser edition has no real-money checkout. Clearing site data removes the local wallet and owned items, and the save does not currently sync between browsers or devices.

Mikan

Mikan is the free starter and the face of CloudRift: an orange, winged fox with a compact, readable silhouette. Because the four Mikan skins range from snow white to deep red and gold, the starter remains visually flexible even after more expensive characters become available.

Hoshi and Mochi

Hoshi is the first affordable roster expansion at 50 coins, with a purple twilight base and Forest and Sakura alternatives. Mochi follows at 150 coins with a pale moonlight look, plus Shadow and Calico skins. Both are practical early purchases for players who want a different silhouette without saving through many long runs.

Hina, Tatsu, and Hi

Hina moves the roster toward a bright dawn palette at 750 coins. Tatsu is a legendary green scaleling at 1,500, while Hi is a red phoenix at 2,500. Tatsu and Hi each include an optional 5,000-coin Golden skin that adds the special Gold Coin Trail.

All twenty-one character skins

Each character begins with a no-cost default skin after the character itself is owned. Additional skins are purchased separately. The Bag remembers the equipped skin for each character, so returning to a pilot restores its last selected look.

Trail effects

The default setting draws no trail. Five effects can be purchased directly, and the Gold Coin Trail arrives with either Golden legendary skin. Equipping another effect over a Golden skin still preserves the skin; switching back to its bundled trail does not require another purchase.

Busy effects can draw attention toward the character, while subtle effects leave more focus on the next obstacle. Neither changes collision or score. If a new effect distracts you during a serious run, practice with it in Classic or temporarily choose None.

A practical early spending plan

  1. First 50 coins: choose Hoshi if a new pilot matters most, or Yuki if you prefer keeping Mikan with a brighter palette.
  2. Next 75–150: a Fire Trail or Sakura Stream creates a visible customization without delaying every future character purchase.
  3. At 150 coins: Mochi is the second low-cost character and adds a clearly different silhouette.
  4. After that: decide whether your goal is roster breadth or one premium look. Buying many small cosmetics is satisfying now; saving for Tatsu, Hi, or a Golden skin creates a longer collection target.

There is no optimal statistical build because cosmetics do not change performance. The best order is the one that makes another run feel rewarding without creating the expectation that an expensive character will solve a timing problem.
