About the game
CloudRift
A fast, friendly arcade flight game built around one precise input: flap now, or risk the next gate.
One tap, a deeper climb
CloudRift starts with an instantly readable challenge. Guide a winged fox through gaps, collect the coins placed on the cleanest flight line, and keep the run alive for one more gate. Those coins fund characters, twenty-one skins, trail effects, and alternate maps rather than a pay-to-skip ladder.
The browser edition currently includes Classic and unlockable Challenge play, four maps, six characters, local high scores, achievements, and device-local customization. The designed native game also includes the broader Custom-mode loadout and powerup systems described on the home page. Google Play, App Store, and Steam release dates have not been announced.
The studio
CloudRift is created and maintained by the CloudRift development team at Weeki Wachee Gaming Company. We are an independent game studio based in Weeki Wachee, Florida. Every guide on this site is written from the current browser build and checked against the same game data that powers the playable version.
The project began with a deliberately narrow question: how much personality and long-term progression can fit around one dependable action? That constraint shaped the winged-fox cast, the short score runs, and an unlock economy that rewards practice instead of asking browser players to purchase progress.
Our visual direction pairs twilight skies and warm gold highlights with characters drawn from fox, dragon, phoenix, and Japanese folklore influences. The browser game renders its backgrounds, characters, obstacles, particles, and score cards directly in HTML5 canvas. It uses JavaScript for the game loop and stores optional progress locally in the player's browser.
What is playable today
The web edition is a complete free browser experience with Classic and Challenge modes, six playable characters, twenty-one character skins, six optional trail effects, four maps, achievements, score sharing, and a device-local coin wallet. It does not require an account and does not sell browser-game coins or cosmetics for real money.
Classic is the steady baseline for learning the flap arc and building a first high score. Challenge unlocks after a Classic score of 25 and changes the backdrop, speed, and character scale as a run progresses. Players can use coins collected in the gaps to unlock cosmetic choices in the Bag.
Custom mode, powerup loadouts, and native store releases remain planned features. We label those features clearly whenever they appear on the site so visitors can distinguish the live browser build from the wider design roadmap.
How we publish game information
Our guides focus on mechanics that can be verified in the current game: controls, scoring thresholds, maps, characters, cosmetics, and browser storage behavior. We revise a guide when the playable build changes and show its review date so players can tell how current it is.
